For anyone looking for a structured, hands-on experience built around the people in the room.

Who can join
Anyone 16+
No exams.
No judgement.
- NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
- At risk of offending or transitioning from custody
- In supported living or at risk of homelessness
- Experiencing mental health challenges or low confidence
- Referrals can come from professionals, support services, or directly from individuals themselves.
No academic entry requirements, and the first conversation is informal.
Real garage experience
Practical vehicle work in a real workshop. Not just classroom theory.





Programme phases
A 9-month structure.
- 01Month 1
Induction & Assessment
An informal conversation and light touch assessment. We record baseline confidence, goals, and support needs - no exams and no forms to fear.
- 02Months 2–7
Hands-On Training
Weekly garage sessions covering vehicle maintenance, bodywork and accident repair. Participants work on real vehicles, including the community fleet.
- 03Months 3–8
IMI Qualification
Structured learning toward an IMI Level 2 Diploma in Auto Care - delivered via The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), the sector's recognised awarding body.
- 04Throughout
Mentoring & Personal Development
Regular 1-to-1 mentoring with mentors who have real lived experiences. Sessions cover confidence, goal setting, behaviour change and work readiness.
- 05Months 8–9
Progression Planning
CV support, employment preparation, employer engagement and transition into work, apprenticeships or further training.
The qualification
IMI Level 2 Diploma in Auto Care
Delivered in partnership with The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) - the sector's recognised awarding body. This nationally recognised qualification provides a foundation for further IMI levels, apprenticeships and automotive employment.
