Who can join
Anyone 16+
No judgement.
- NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
- At risk of offending or transitioning from custody
- In supported living or at risk of homelessness
- Experiencing mental health challenges or low confidence
- Referrals can come from professionals, support services, or directly from individuals themselves.
No academic entry requirements, and the first conversation is informal.
Real garage experience
Practical vehicle work in a real workshop. Not just classroom theory.
Programme pathway
A 3-stage structure.
- Stage 01Weeks 1-2
Career Readiness & Assessment
Learners create a CV and cover letter, develop interview skills, complete self-paced eLearning, and sit a remotely invigilated exam at our training centre. During the second week, they gain hands-on garage experience and meet a local employer. The stage concludes with one-to-one feedback, guidance on next steps, and the award of an accredited Certificate alongside a Gearing2Grow Certificate of Achievement.
- Stage 02Weeks 3-24
Technical Training & Workshop Experience
Learners who complete Stage 1 progress to structured technical training and practical workshop experience at our training centre. They achieve a nationally recognised technical training covering routine maintenance and repair, providing the skills and qualifications needed to begin a career in the automotive industry.
- Stage 03Weeks 25-48
Advanced Technical Training & Mentorship
Learners who complete Stage 2 progress to advanced technical training in fault diagnosis and rectification, at our training centre. They achieve a nationally recognised advanced technical training, equipping them with the specialist skills that enhance employability, career progression, and earning potential within the automotive sector.
The qualification
An Accredited Diploma
Our programme is built around a nationally recognised automotive qualification framework, providing a foundation for further levels, apprenticeships and automotive employment.
